It started with 5 women and a living room.
In 2012, I decided to start a network for women who were ambitious, fearless, female founders because I realized that there was a trend happening that I desperately wanted to end. Women were building businesses because they were beyond amazing at their craft, but yet, they fell short in learning the basics of building a business.
Through monthly meetings, accountability partners, continuously growing and expanding our reach, our network has grown from 5 women who met monthly in my living room, to 47 members and three chapters spanning the United States.
Our goal is simple:
1.To help women connect with other like-minded women because we are more powerful when we are able to work together rather than when we are off by ourselves trying to figure this entrepreneur life thing out on our own.
2.To help women build businesses that are clear in purpose, direction, and mission. There is nothing worse than confused girl boss. If you are confused then your buyers are going to be even more confused. And you know what they say, confused buyers do not buy!
3.To help women of color entrepreneurs close the gap of disparity in building revenue generating businesses. In 2018, minority women owned businesses made on an average $66,400 in revenue while non-minority women owned businesses made $212,300. We can complain about the problem or we can be disruptors together and do something about that statistic!
